Our first education in Split! Recently, we designed, organized and conducted education in partnership with one of the most prominent cultural institutions of the city – the Split City Museum. The education was specially designed for professionals in culture, providing them with interactive learning methods and intensive practical application. Directors of cultural institutions, curators, guides and other experts from the field of culture of the city of Split were among the 23 successful participants of the training.
The participants improved their competences through four thematic modules, focused on different aspects of management. Starting from program planning to sustainable management of projects and teams, as well as public relations and heritage interpretation, each module provided an opportunity for interactive learning through practical work and collaboration within the team.
Our goal was to raise awareness of the importance of preserving and strengthening the spirit of the city, a living fabric that is essential for the authentic experiences of visitors and citizens.
In addition to new skills and knowledge, we designed education as a platform for cooperation, through which the foundations for joint strategic action and sustainable management of the city’s cultural and tourist resources are created, for the benefit of all citizens and visitors of Split.
The training was led by an experienced trainer Iva Klarić Vujović, behind the organization was Meri Vesanović, and Dragana Lucija Ratković Aydemir introduced contemporary perspectives on cultural tourism, values and sustainability with her guest lecture. We were particularly pleased with the results of the evaluation of the training: the participants rated it as extremely interesting, useful and relevant, and they all agree in recommending it to their colleagues.
Education is one of the key activities of the “Palace of Life – City of Change” project, co-financed by the European Fund for Regional Development through the ITU mechanism of the Split urban agglomeration. The holder is the Museum of the City of Split.
