We invite all interested experts in the fields of architecture, urban and spatial planning, the protection of natural and cultural sites, cultural tourism, presentation and interpretation of heritage, museology, sociology, anthropology, cultural theories, communication science and economy to engage as lecturers at the Proceed with Care International Conference, which will be held in Šibenik, Croatia, 2. May – 5. May 2019.
Sustainable tourism management in heritage sites should begin with comprehensive planning and design to achieve a balance between locals and visitors, and to maintain the resilience, security and sustainability of our cities. The expansion of urban space to include neighboring rural areas provides even greater sustainability through urban-rural links.
The integrative planning and design process is followed by the development of a sustainable model of visitor management through the interpretation and presentation of heritage and with appropriate communication strategies.

The conference acts as an interdisciplinary platform for resolving the conflict between “overtourism” and the preservation of natural and cultural landscapes, historic cities, monuments and landmarks, especially those inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The aim is to engage academic experts, researchers and practitioners in the fields of architecture, urban and spatial planning, protection of natural and cultural sites, cultural tourism, interpretation and presentation of heritage, museology, sociology, anthropology, cultural theories, communication sciences and economics.
The latest academic, scientific and field research, strategies, techniques and tools will be given the opportunity to compare, challenge and revise – and then become examples of good practice for the benefit of both parties – the prosperity of local communities linked to the tourism economy. by preserving cultural tangible and intangible heritage.
